Google Photos leverages AI in features like Magic Editor. Magic Editor tools like Reimagine allow users to modify images with AI, changing the background, moving and resizing objects, and adding objects to images. Since this is a relatively new feature, the UI needs some improvements, and Google seems to be working on it. An upcoming update to the Magic Editor will bring some UI changes that will make different AI features more visible and make different prompts easier to use.

Google Photos v7.6 includes an updated UI for the Reimagine feature within Magic Editor. For reference, the current editor looks like this:
We were able to enable a UI that may be available in a future update. This will look like this:
The new UI makes it easy to use Reimagin to replace photos or add new ones. The new Insert and Replace options display a text entry field with pre-filled commands so you can continue typing to get the image you want. The “Rethink Background” option is also new to us as it eliminates the need to select the entire background to make changes.

As mentioned above, this UI is not currently built into Google Photos’ Magic Editor. This will make the app much easier to use, so we hope to see it rolled out to all users soon.
