Apple today released a new firmware update for all AirPods 4 models. The AirPods 4 firmware build number is 7B19, which is an increase from the previous 7A304 firmware released in September.
There’s no word yet on what’s included in the new AirPods 4 firmware, but it’s available for both standard AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC. This is the second firmware update the AirPods 4 have received since their launch earlier this year.
Apple recently updated AirPods Pro 2 to add hearing health features such as hearing testing, hearing protection, and hearing aid functionality. AirPods Pro 2 also run 7B19 firmware, but hearing aid functionality is not included in AirPods 4.
Apple doesn’t have a way to manually upgrade AirPods software, but firmware is typically installed over the air when AirPods are in their charging case and connected to an iOS device or Mac.
