iOS 18.1, the first Apple Intelligence feature, was released to everyone today with writing tools, cleanup, and more.
Last week, Apple began beta testing the next round of Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.2. Apple has since confirmed that these Apple Intelligence features and iOS 18.2 will be released to all users in December.
What’s new in iOS 18.2?
iOS 18.2 continues the rollout of Apple Intelligence with multiple new features, including:
- Image Playground: Create custom images based on text descriptions
- Genmoji: Create custom emojis based on text descriptions
- ChatGPT and Siri integration
- New features in Writing Tools: Create and Change Description
- Visual intelligence for iPhone 16 users
- Convert rough sketches into complete images with the Notes app Image Wand
In today’s press release announcing the launch of Apple Intelligence, Apple confirmed that new Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.2 will be generally available in December. Apple plans to release Apple Intelligence in more regions in December.
“New Apple Intelligence features will be available in December, with additional capabilities rolling out in the coming months,” Apple announced today.
In addition to the features included in iOS 18.2, more Apple Intelligence features will be released in 2025. This includes things like prioritized notifications and a next-generation version of Siri with personal context and in-app actions. These features will be introduced in future updates such as iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4.
