Chinese giant BYD plans to repair Apple tablets at a factory in Vietnam’s northern Phu Tho province.
According to a recent project report, BYD Electronics (Vietnam) Company Limited will set up three production lines with each line capable of producing 20,000 cubic meters of adhesive per hour for adhesive-related work for iPad repair. I’m asking for permission.
The factory, located in Phu Ha Industrial Park in the northern province, will repair 600,000 Apple tablets a year that BYD manufactures in Vietnam and around the world.
BYD started investing in the Phu Thu factory in 2021 and has increased the investment amount to more than VND9,515 billion ($375.3 million) so far. The latest investment increase was made in August 2023 for $144 million.
In addition to repairing iPads, the factory has an annual production capacity of 14.4 million tablets, 1.87 million plastic tablet covers, 540,000 DJI-branded drone cameras (Flycams), 2.4 million 4G-5G chips and modules, 3.59 million computer mouse components, 8.6 million lithium batteries and 9.36 million steel tablet covers.
