The iPad 11 may not be on the list of products Apple will release during next week’s announcement. Generally reliable Apple insider sources say the iPad 11 release date will be next year.
If this is true, Apple’s October product launch outside of the event will only include M4-powered Macs and related accessories.
iPad 11 release date could be months away
The last new version of Apple’s basic tablet, the iPad 10, arrived two years ago. Tablet fans have been anticipating that a successor equipped with a faster processor will be released this year. But a new report says the wait is here to stay.
“I hear that the company is actively developing its 11th generation. [iPad] model,” he said. bloombergMark Garman of power on Newsletter published on Sunday.
This is consistent with previous reports, particularly where Garman noted that “starting in 2022, the design will be largely the same as the current version, but it will be faster.”
However, there are some disappointments for those who were expecting it to be released soon. “This model is scheduled to be released at the same time as the new iPhone SE and iPad Air in the spring.” bloomberg Report.
Of course, this unconfirmed report is no guarantee that the iPad 11 won’t be included in the series of product announcements that Apple’s head of marketing Greg Jozwiak promised on Thursday to begin on Monday. Gurman is often able to make accurate predictions about what will happen in Cupertino based on sources inside Apple, but not every time.
If this report is true, there will be no new low-cost iPads during the year-end sales season. And those looking for a low-cost tablet that runs an AI-powered feature called Apple Intelligence will have to hold out until 2025.
To know for sure, we’ll have to wait and see what Apple has to offer this week.
Many other new iPads
If the latest rumors about the iPad 11 release date are true, those in the market for a new entry-level tablet may be put on hold, but consumers will have plenty of other new iPadOS options to choose from.
iPad mini 7 was launched via press release earlier this month. It offers faster processors, additional storage, and support for Apple Intelligence. And in the spring, we introduced the M4 iPad Pro, an ultra-thin tablet powered by Apple’s latest and fastest processor. At the same time, the M2 iPad Air was enlarged to 13 inches for the first time.
But Apple clearly isn’t resting on its laurels. An upgraded version of the iPad Air could launch around the same time as the iPad 11 early next year. Rumor has it that the iPad Pro with M5 will arrive in the second half of 2025.
