Which iPad should I buy?
If you’re looking for a cheap iPad, the 10.2-inch flagship model coming in 2021 could be your best bet. This everyday tablet has super-fast technology inside, compatibility with a variety of accessories to improve your work and play experience, and a competitive price. The new 10.9-inch model is also an option, but due to its high price, we recommend buying the cheapest model possible.
However, if you plan on using your tablet for more than everyday light browsing, streaming, and the odd game, you’ll probably want to scale up to the iPad Air. This has extra power to play some more games and run some Adobe programs. Sales on this iPad model are also a little more consistent, with most retailers offering permanent discounts off the recommended price.
Those focused on creative, gaming, media editing, or multitasking-oriented workflows will want to spend their money on the iPad Pro. The 2022 model is very strong, but keep in mind that it is rarely discounted outside of limited-time sale events. When we find great deals, we’ll share them with you, but don’t expect huge discounts all the time.
Of course, don’t ignore the iPad mini either. The latest 2021 model has specs comparable to the Air, but in a much smaller form factor. If you want a more compact and portable device without sacrificing too much performance, this is the device to look at when it goes on sale.
