Android 15 has just started rolling out, and we can’t wait to see what the next version of Google’s operating system has to offer. However, new information from Mishaal Rahman reveals some interesting details about Android 16, especially the improved Do Not Disturb mode.
Rahman, writing for Android Authority, shared the latest findings from the latest Android 15 QPR 1 Beta 3, which was released recently. These indicate that the new mode feature (which is nothing but an improved Do Not Disturb mode) is likely to be included in next year’s Android 16 stable release. Rahman notes that these new modes were previously called Priority Modes and came with a completely new user interface, but for some reason the latest release seems to be simply called Modes. .
The new Modes feature allows users to create several different modes with their own names, icons, activation triggers, displays, and notification settings. Contrary to the latest firmware findings, the current Do Not Disturb feature provides limited options and does not allow users to set multiple modes.
The new mode can be toggled on and off from the phone’s Settings tab, or from a new quick settings tile that the tech giant is said to be developing. Once enabled, the icon for the corresponding mode will be displayed at a glance in the status bar, next to the lock screen, and on the always-on display.
With the latest Android 15 beta firmware, you’ll see more quick settings tiles. Clicking on this tile will open it in a single column and further expand the vertically scrolling list to show all mode names and may add a short description next to them in a future release. . If multiple modes are set, the user can[クイック設定]The tile displays the first icon for the first mode setting.
Similarly, if multiple modes are active, the tile displays the number of active modes instead of the first mode name. The icons are unique to each mode, but Rahman said Google provides about 40 unique icons for users to play with the mode features. This number is expected to increase further by the stable release of Android 16 next year.
