Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 in March, so it’s clear that it’s already hard at work on its successor, which is expected to arrive sometime in the first quarter of next year.
Galaxy A56 camera details were leaked today, and as the saying goes, there’s some good news and some bad news.
Let’s start with the good. The Galaxy A56 will feature an upgraded selfie camera, likely with a 12 MP sensor, replacing the 32 MP snapper that has been used in the A5x line since the launch of the Galaxy A51 in 2019. It is unclear whether the new cameras are identical. It’s the same one used in the Galaxy S flagship line, but it’s definitely an upgrade compared to previous A5x devices.
That’s fine, but the selfie shooter is likely to be the only upgraded camera compared to the Galaxy A55. Therefore, the A56 is said to have to go with exactly the same 50 MP main snapper, 12 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro cameras as its predecessor. So if you were expecting the Galaxy A5x line (remember Samsung’s best-seller) to have a telephoto camera, you’ll probably have to keep waiting until the A57 arrives.
