After introducing a calendar app earlier this year, Notion is ready to tackle email with a fully customizable app launching next year. Like Notion’s other tools, the company says Mail can “reduce emails to their constituent parts” and create inboxes with views, layouts, and actions tailored to your preferences. .
You can also use Notion AI to automatically organize, archive, or draft emails based on prompts. Its AI lets you schedule meetings through integration with Notion’s calendar app and quickly create personalized emails using “one-click snippets.” The Mail app is somewhat similar to Skiff, the secure email service that Notion acquired in February.
Notion plans to release an email app in “early 2025,” and when it does, it will integrate with Google and Gmail accounts. It will also be available for iPhone and Android devices. The Notion Mail app is currently in preview, but you can join the waitlist and access it from Notion’s website.
In addition to the new email app, Notion has launched a new forms tool that you can use to collect responses, similar to Google Forms. Notion is also rolling out more ways to customize layouts and new automations that let you notify people via Gmail. Notion has also launched updates to its marketplace where people can sell and buy Notion templates.
As my colleague David Pierce pointed out earlier this year, Notion aims to be the only productivity app businesses need to accomplish all their tasks. After email, presentation apps may be the next thing.
