Google’s first Pixel Tablet is unique in many ways, but ultimately it’s not a product that will meet everyone’s needs. But with ongoing sales, the Pixel Tablet is an absolute bargain.
Pixel Tablet was launched in 2023 with a focus on smart home. With the help of a speaker dock, the tablet could effectively act as a better version of the Nest Hub. When undocked, the Pixel Tablet is a traditional Android tablet with Google’s best features, plus three years of major Android updates and five years of security updates.
Google has since started selling the Pixel Tablet without a dock, dropping the price to $399. But it’s still not a particularly attractive offer.
When someone asks me which Android tablet they should buy, which is admittedly a rare question, my mind rarely goes to a Pixel tablet. Google’s accessory ecosystem for this tablet isn’t very well-suited for what you normally need a tablet for (third-party options are still hit or miss). There are also better options in the regular $399 price range. We recommend the OnePlus Pad, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, or even the iPad. good Before you tell someone to pick up a Pixel Tablet.
But a current deal on Amazon changes the equation.
Presumably for a limited time only, as originally highlighted, the Pixel Tablet is currently over 30% off on Amazon. 9to5 toysthe best place to track your transactions.
This brings the price down to $275, which is a steal for this device. You don’t get a speaker dock for that price, but you get a solid Android tablet for a reasonable price. The Pixel tablet has an 11-inch 2560 x 1600 60Hz display, Tensor G2 inside, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and can currently install Android 15.
At $275, no other tablet offers quite the same overall package. You can easily get products like the Galaxy Tab A9+ with the same size display (but with a faster refresh rate), but that abandons Google’s clean and simple Android build in favor of a much lower resolution display. Get it, as Samsung typically takes quite a while to update anything but its top-of-the-line tablets (the company’s Android 15 update has been delayed to 2025).
Google’s Pixel Tablet still isn’t a perfect fit for everyone. The aforementioned lack of a meaningful accessory ecosystem still haunts the tablet. However, this current pricing makes it more attractive.
This deal probably won’t last long and specifically only applies to the “porcelain” color variant.
