Astropad, known for its Luna Display, Rock Paper Pencil, and Astropad Studio app, today launched a new accessory called the Bookcase. A bookshelf adds a handle to your iPhone or other smartphone, making it easier to hold your device more comfortably while reading.
Astropad aims to turn your iPhone into an e-book reader with Bookcase. This accessory provides an ergonomic grip during long reading sessions, and allows you to hold your iPhone without blocking any part of the display.
The bookshelf is adjustable so it can work with almost all modern iPhone and Android smartphones, and it even comes with a companion app that creates shortcuts to automatically launch reading apps. Shortcuts lets you set your reading app to open every time your iPhone is placed on your bookshelf, thanks to the included NFC tag.
Starting with iPhone 12, your iPhone is secured to a bookshelf using MagSafe. For older iPhones, a “MagSafe” conversion kit is included. The bookshelf can be used with any MagSafe-enabled iPhone case.
According to Astropad, the Bookcase is perfect for commuting, lunch breaks, bedtime, etc., and eliminates the need to buy an e-reader when the iPhone already offers the same general functionality.
The bookcase can be purchased from Astropad’s website for $40.
