The Los Angeles Galaxy won their first title in 2002. It took only three more years for him to win his second title.

In that special season, the LA Galaxy became the “Yankees” of professional soccer. Not only did they win the MLS Cup, they became the first franchise to win the U.S. Open Cup in the same season.

They had a 10-3-3 home advantage. The LA Galaxy finished the season with a -1 difference, scoring 44 goals and conceding 45 goals.

Landon Donovan has emerged as the Los Angeles Galaxy’s brightest star. After starting his professional soccer career with the San Jose Earthquakes, he took his winning ways to Southern California.

Donovan won two MLS Cups with San Jose in 2001 and 2003, and his third title came with his new team, leading the Galaxy with 12 points and nine assists in just 22 games. .

The Los Angeles Galaxy started the season 7-2-2 through the first 11 games. Teammates Paulo Nagamula, Cobi Jones and Hercules Gomez helped lead this team to success.

With the same score of 1-0, the Galaxy won yet another trophy. Defeating Dallas FC, they became the 2005 U.S. Open Cup champions.

They defeated Chivas USA, San Jose Earthquakes, and Minnesota Thunder. The LA Galaxy scored 12 goals in those three games and only allowed five goals. Gomez scored six points himself.

The best moment of winning the U.S. Open Cup happened in Carson, California. The home crowd witnessed the first of two titles won by the LA Galaxy.

Just like their first MLS Cup victory, the Galaxy needed another overtime to beat the New England Revolution 1-0.

Guillermo Ramirez played in the MLS Cup final for Ned Grababoff. Ramirez’s only goal was the deciding factor for LA Galaxy’s second championship.

As you know, after the 2005 MLS season, the Galaxy won more championships. This could be their best year yet as they make history and set the tone for their future.
