In a groundbreaking collaboration, HMD Global has unveiled the Fusion smartphone, a device that embodies the concept of symbiosis, much like Marvel’s iconic anti-hero Venom. This innovative smartphone allows users to integrate their device with interchangeable “smart outfits” that change its functionality and appearance in real time.
To commemorate its release in the United States, Venom: The Last DanceHMD has created three exclusive smart outfits that will be unveiled at a pop-up event on October 20th and will appear on the red carpet at the film premiere on October 21st. These costumes feature Venom’s dark aesthetic and include custom Venom-inspired notification sounds and visuals. It will reflect the content of the movie, such as the phrase “We are Venom” appearing when the device starts up. Each special rig integrates a 160-piece electromagnetic array that controls a Venom-like liquid (ferrofluid) inside a glass chamber that connects to the Fusion via six pins. When activated, the costume changes the phone’s appearance and software to reflect the bond between Venom and Eddie Brock.
The HMD Fusion smartphone is currently available for pre-order on the HMD Webstore, with official Venom-themed wallpapers available for download. Although the limited-edition Venom costume will not be available for purchase, consumers can expect a variety of smart costumes to launch in the coming months, with more advanced versions expected to arrive in 2025.
