Amazon offered great discounts on some of Samsung’s top-of-the-line phones this month on Prime Day. However, not all Galaxy options received such special treatment. For example, the Galaxy A25 5G was just $50 off through 48 hours of shopping. By the way, if you weren’t able to purchase it at the time, you might be happy to know that it’s $50 cheaper than usual at retailers.
For a $300 device, even a 17% discount looks attractive. After all, everyone loves a bargain. What makes Amazon’s deal even more exciting is that you won’t find an unlocked unit for the same sub-$250 price at Best Buy or the Samsung Store. So if you want an affordable phone with a decent screen and a decent camera, this pup might be worth checking out. While certainly not as impressive as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, this pup is still one of the top choices under $300. It features a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and decent brightness levels. Competitors like the OnePlus Nord N30 and Moto G Power 5G (2024) use LCD displays (and the same price), so Samsung’s option is the clear winner.
Apart from that, there is a 50 MP main camera on the back (also in a $300 phone) that takes beautiful pictures. There’s also an 8 + 2 MP sensor on the back, but you probably won’t use the latter much.
Camera and display quality are important, but so is processing power. Well, this Android smartphone handles that well. With the Exynos 1280 chip, you can expect near-smooth everyday performance, but the phone won’t knock your socks off.
Either way, the Galaxy A25 5G is one of the better options under $300. The overall performance is so-so, so it might satisfy undemanding users, especially if it’s sold at a bargain price. Get 17% off on Amazon.
