At today’s Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm will officially announce its flagship SoC for smartphones, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Snapdragon 8 Elite is a significant upgrade from the previous generation, with improvements across the board. Qualcomm will also change the naming scheme for its flagship SoC from Snapdragon 8 Gen X to Snapdragon X Elite.
Snapdragon 8 Elite is built using TSMC’s 3nm process node, delivering significant performance and efficiency improvements. For the first time, Qualcomm is equipping a smartphone with its in-house developed Oryon custom ARM CPU. The new Prime Core and Performance Core architectures feature 24 MB cache and can reach frequencies of 4.32 GHz, delivering performance improvements such as:
