As expected, Oppo announced its take on Google’s latest version of Android, ColorOS 15. The new version of Oppo’s OS, based on Android 15, focuses on AI and brings a number of visual changes and significant improvements to various apps. Comes with system.
One of the most interesting new features in ColorOS 15 is something called “parallel animation,” which allows multiple windows to work at the same time. Additionally, ColorOS 15 introduces so-called “enhanced motion effects,” which promise to provide a more consistent sliding experience between Oppo apps and third-party apps.
When it comes to gaming, Oppo announced that ColorOS 15 will enable most devices to maintain an average of 116.7 frames per second (FPS). This also applies to video calls. The Chinese phone maker also claims that the average installation speed of applications has increased by 26%. Oppo also promises 50% faster initial loading speed for third-party app albums.
At the core of Oppo’s ColorOS 15 is the Aurora Engine, a new rendering architecture that uses a non-traditional parallel response method rather than serial. Oppo says the new solution improves control response speed by 18% and control stability by as much as 40%.
Along with Aurora Engine, Oppo has introduced Tidal Engine, another solution that improves multimedia decoding performance and file decompression time. Tidal Engine is expected to power dynamic cache allocation three times more efficiently than instruction acceleration.
Moving on to AI improvements. ColorOS 15 comes with Super Xiaobu Assistant, which provides advanced interaction features such as one-click screen queries, screen recognition Q&A, circle questions, and photo Q&A.
In addition to the new operating system, Oppo also revealed its ColorOS 15 update roadmap, but this is only for products released in China. The company’s newest smartphones, such as the Oppo Find X7 and Oppo N3 Flip, will receive an update as early as next month, while older smartphones such as the Oppo Reno9 5 won’t be available until March 2025.
