According to eReaderPro.co.uk, apart from the Poke 6 and Poke 6S e-readers, Onyx Boox has also introduced the latest generation of Palma e-readers which will be officially launched on October 21st. The new Parma will only be sold in China and shares many similarities with the Parma already on sale. This includes a 6.13-inch E Ink display with a resolution of 300 PPI. The display is equipped with adjustable dual warm front light and cold front light functions for comfortable reading in the dark.
The new Palma is powered by a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor paired with 6GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage. There’s also the option to add up to 1TB of storage via an external memory card. All of this is enough storage to hold all the e-books and audiobooks you need.
Like other Boox devices, the new Palma also benefits from the company’s proprietary BSR high-speed flash chip, which enables fast page refresh times. The company claims this provides smooth screen transitions and smartphone-like performance for most apps running on the device. Debris from the previous display is effectively removed, giving you a clean and fresh display every time you turn a page.
The power supply remains the same, with a 3950 mAh battery, which claims the Onyx Boox can last for 30 days of reading. The built-in dual microphones support recording and voice recognition, which is a very useful feature for recording meeting minutes and university lectures. Palma also comes with an AI smart key that provides access to the built-in AI smart assistant.
However, the biggest change seen on the new Palma is that it now runs Android 13. It may still be two years behind the latest Android versions, but it’s still a healthy upgrade over the Android 11 version offered by Palma’s international edition. is preloaded. Also, there is no rear camera this time. Instead, there is a square module in the top left corner with the company name engraved above it. The international version of Palma comes with a 16 MP rear camera along with an LED flash.
The device comes in a beautiful white color, which, combined with the 3D printed leather finish back cover, gives the device a premium look. Pricing, availability and other details will be announced on October 21st. Please wait for a while.
As I have a keen interest in technology, I always try to keep up to date with the latest developments in technology and gadgets. This includes smartphones and tablet devices, but also extends to AI and self-driving cars. The latter is my latest craze. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, and trying out different recipes. Film is also a very interesting aspect for me and I will probably make a film sometime in the future.
