Group texts may not be as prolific as, say, a group WhatsApp chat or an email chain, but those who prefer to use a good old-fashioned text message can use a few to send information to multiple people. There are many reasons why you might want to leave a group text chain. Perhaps that purpose has been fulfilled. Maybe you don’t want to keep receiving messages from the crew. And I have a friend who creates a whole new text chain for every new event he hosts and immediately spams it to his phone.
But leaving a group chat on Android isn’t as easy as you might think. Mainly because there’s no easy button to sneak out at night. Unfortunately, there is no “leave chat” feature here.
However, there are several ways to get out of an Android group, so here we will show you how to remove yourself from a group text on Android.

3. Report the conversation as spam

Sometimes you may want to leave a group chat on Android. That’s because they don’t plan on joining group chats in the first place. It could be spam from an unknown caller and you want nothing to do with it. These are often sent through group chats, allowing spammers to target multiple people at once.
The best thing to do in this case is Report a messageThis will block the sender and remove them from the chat.
Start with the hamburger menu above and press Group detailsthe second option is below. You can also achieve the same with Click on the chat name in the top left (referred to here as “Test”).
This menu displays chat details (including participants) and allows you to add people, start a call, and search the participant list. Also, as you can see in the image, there is a button you want to press. Report spam.

Wait, do I see an option to leave the group?
In SMS and MMS group chats, there is no option to leave the group. If you see one of these, it’s because you’re connecting to an RCS text chain instead of an SMS or MMS text chain.
This alternative to SMS (see RCS Messaging) is much more secure than SMS and provides more options for sending videos and files. However, it is not yet widely accessible and not used by many people, which means that most people’s text chains will not be RCS.
What happens when I archive a conversation?
