Android 15 got a late start, but now it’s rolling out to Pixel phones with the latest monthly update, and the floodgates are starting to open for other brands.
Google first released Android 15 to AOSP in September, but has delayed the update for Pixel devices until this week. This appears to have officially opened the floodgates for further updates to Android 15 for non-Pixel devices.
Motorola has already started rolling out Android 15 to the Edge 50 Fusion with the October 2024 security update, apparently in beta. The first list of Motorola devices scheduled to be updated was spotted last week, but there is no official timeline from Motorola.
Meanwhile, ASUS announced a preview program for the ROG Phone 8 this week.
Prior to these, Vivo announced the rollout of Android 15 a few weeks ago, and the rollout on Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Vivo X100, and iQOO 12 is expected to start soon.
Oppo is also expected to announce more details today, October 17th. OnePlus is also expected to announce more details about OxygenOS 15 later this month, as it has teased online.
For the time being, Samsung has confirmed that the release of One UI 7, based on Android 15, will be delayed to 2025, so perhaps it’s Samsung that’s worth noting.
