Original article: October 10, 2024 (5:46 a.m. ET): Google introduced an audio emoji feature in its Pixel 8a phone app earlier this year, effectively acting as a soundboard for your phone. The feature has since been rolled out to other Pixel phones, and it looks like Google will be adding spooky sounds to celebrate Halloween.

We discovered a Halloween-themed audio emoji option in the beta version of the Google Phone app (version 149.0.682953539-publicbeta-pixel2024). Play spooky sounds such as a creepy laugh, a cat screech, and a thunderbolt. I was able to enable the feature as well. Check out the screen recording below.
While we can confirm that the party sounds in the audio emoji menu have been replaced with Halloween sounds, this is not necessarily indicative of what the menu will look like when the new sounds are officially released.
