TL;DR
- Motorola has started rolling out the Android 15 beta update to some devices.
- The company doesn’t typically roll out new OS updates quickly.
- Samsung has yet to release its own One UI 7 beta update based on Android 15.
When it comes to quick software updates on smartphones, you can’t beat Samsung. But in what seems like an anomaly, Motorola started rolling out the Android 15 update to some phones before the One UI 7 beta was released.
Users are reporting that their Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is receiving Android 15 beta (h/t GSM Arena). That’s pretty impressive for a company that only delivered three major OS updates before this year. Motorola just started promising five years of OS updates earlier this year when it announced its Edge 50 lineup. The company appears to be delivering on its promise by rolling out a public beta of Android 15 right after Google releases the stable version.
The Edge 50 Fusion update package is 1.8 GB and has version number V1UUI35H.6. Other phones in the Edge 50 series may also get the new software. At least one report on Reddit mentions the Edge 50 Pro getting the update.

Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to roll out the One UI 7 beta for developers by the end of the year. Several Android smartphone manufacturers, including new entrants like Nothing, have already rolled out Android 15 beta software for some devices.
