Specialized, the maker of the best electric bikes on the planet, has announced their latest Vado SL 2, a lightweight electric version of our top pick.
The Turbo Vado 4.0 is our first choice thanks to its superior power delivery, build quality, and impressive range. Specialized continues all of these trends with the new Vado SL 2 Carbon.
The Turbo Vado SL 2 6.0 is reasonably priced at £5,500/$6,500/AU$9,900 and is extremely lightweight. The more expensive LTD version weighs just 14.9kg (regular version 39.7lbs/17.9kg) and is powered by LEVO SL 2’s Specialized SL 1.2 motor for brisk acceleration.
Power is delivered silently, and 320 watts of power can help you achieve top speeds of 15.5 mph. The 520Wh battery provides 5 hours of driving time on a single charge.
Vado SL 2 Carbon: Premium Package
Riding the Vado SL 2 Carbon is a highly technical experience, with heart rate, power and cadence monitoring available within the Specialized app (updated with a bright new display and joystick remote control).
Specialized says this is the only sub-20kg carbon bike on the market with a MIK HD rack for storage. It also features multiple attachment points for things like child seats and trailers, and the rear rack can carry up to 27kg. Suspension is provided by Future Shock 3.2 for a smooth and controlled ride.
One more thing: the Vado SL 2 Carbon includes Apple Find My technology, so you can register it as a device on the Find My network and track it if it’s lost or stolen. It also features a Turbo System Lock for added anti-theft protection.
The new Vado SL 2 Carbon is now available in two colors and four different sizes from Specialized’s website.
