What you need to know

  • Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is rumored to be released on October 25th.
  • This model is said to boast an ultra-slim profile, measuring just 4.9 mm thick when unfolded and 10.6 mm thick when folded.
  • Leaker Evan Blass also shared a render showing the back of the phone with three raised lenses inside a bold camera bump.

Samsung’s rumored slimmer Galaxy Z Fold 6 was expected to launch this month, but a new leak confirms that with new details about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition’s release date. .

According to a report from FNNews, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition on October 25th (via SamMobile). The timing puts Samsung in a good position to take on Chinese rivals, especially in terms of screen size and slim design, and marks a major leap forward for foldable smartphones.

According to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is just 4.9mm thick when unfolded and 10.6mm when folded, a clear upgrade from the Z Fold 6’s 5.6mm and 12.1mm measurements.

Back in July, leaks suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could be 10 to 11 millimeters thick when folded. The latest report confirms this, lending further weight to the idea that this device will raise the bar for slim foldable phones.

Additionally, leaker Evan Blass has just released two renders of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim”. This image shows the back of the phone, which houses three cameras on the bold camera bump. The raised camera module with a separate camera ring is thicker, showing how difficult it is to squeeze a camera into such a slim phone.

The camera settings in the renders are consistent with previous leaks regarding this device. The rectangular bump makes it stand out compared to the individual cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, giving the render more authenticity.

The camera module has three raised lenses, much like the ones on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. But from the side, there’s not much to note, just a golden tint and a fairly thick border around the internal display.

The second render shows the slim side of the device. We see two buttons placed on the textured rose gold midframe, presumably for volume and power.

Unfortunately, I can’t dig deeper due to limited images. The leaker hasn’t revealed the exact name of the device included in the render, but there’s been a lot of talk about it possibly being related to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim and is rumored to be targeting the southern Korean market.
