The NBC 4 New York app has an all-new weather section with many features from Storm Team 4, including customizable features, upgraded radar settings, and an improved location experience.
We’ve redesigned the app to let you change your weather experience based on your local weather needs, preferences, and location. You can now sort the weather modules within the app to prioritize the information that matters most.
The app’s radar settings have also been upgraded to give you more control over StormTracker4’s layers and overlays. We’ve also added explanations to each feature so you can easily tailor your radar experience to your needs.
Feedback from app users and meteorologists was a core part of this redesign, resulting in a more intuitive and modern weather platform.

- Dynamic layout: You can customize your Weather home screen by rearranging weather modules based on your preferences, ensuring a personalized experience based on your personal needs and interests.
- Improved location experience: The upgraded location hub makes it easy to add new locations and set weather alerts. It also highlights recent locations for easy navigation.
- Modifying radar settings: We’ve streamlined and reorganized our radar layers and overlays to give you more control over your radar experience. We’ve also added a description for each to make the radar view easier to understand and customize to suit your needs.
- Clear information hierarchy: We’ve restructured the layout to prioritize important weather data, making it easier than ever to access important information.
- Improved readability: Clear, large fonts and easy-to-understand icons make it easy to read and navigate.
- Simplified navigation: We spotlight the information that matters most to you, such as current conditions, and also provide easy access to hourly and 10-day weather forecasts.
- Streamlined display: The new design makes it easier to find the information you need.
- Upgraded weather alert settings: Moved weather settings to the weather section of the app. Weather push notification settings can now be managed separately from news notifications.
