Many people use dating apps to make connections, but sometimes you still need a little extra help. Some apps use AI to provide that support.
HOUSTON — Finding love isn’t always easy, which is why many people turn to dating apps like Divinity and Jose Vazquez to make connections.
“We’ve only been together for a little over three years,” Divinity Vasquez said.
Divinity and Jose grew up on different sides of town.
“we We didn’t know each other, but we went to the same gym,” Jose Vasquez said.
But in the end, it was a swipe on a cell phone that brought them to each other.
“We met on the dating app Hinge,” Divinity said.
The pair say authenticity was key when creating their dating profiles.
“I tried to attract people who were as interested in those things as the things that were important to me,” Divinity said.
Honesty has made it easier to have a conversation with each other, but for some people it’s not that simple.
“Online dating is hard. You know, I see people struggling,” Rizz co-founder Roman Cabes said. “If you get stuck in the middle of a conversation or don’t know how to open up, you won’t have the confidence to have a conversation on a date.”
Dating app fatigue and struggling to carry on a conversation led Khaves to find a solution in the Rizz app.
“It’s the wingwoman, the wingman of AI,” Cabes said. “I’m with you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I’m always there to help you when you need it.”
The app was released in December 2022.
Cabes said the AI tool is similar to ChatGPT, but focused on dating.
“If you’re interested in a profile but aren’t sure exactly how to open up and start a conversation, here’s what you can do: Take a screenshot of that profile or a prompt to upload to rizz ,” says Caves. Liz scans it and uses the magical AI she has in the background to give you strategies on how to open up and follow up on suggestions. ”
Cabes says the goal is not to tell someone what to say, but to get people on a first date quickly.
“A lot of people are stuck and in this never-ending cycle, and they’re endlessly swiping on these dating apps and never actually landing a date,” Cabes said.
Divinity and Jose say that if such a tool had been available, they would not have used it.
“I If you want to make the right first impression, know what to do. Because that’s important when you meet someone for the first time,” Jose said.
Experts like Ernesto Verdugo say AI is the future, even when it comes to dating.
“It used to be based on algorithms, now it’s based on predictions and it’s much more powerful,” Verdugo said.
As for Liz, Caves says this is just the beginning.
“Our goal, as you know, is to truly lead the way in modern AI dating apps,” Cabes said. “We’re going to do even more cool and interesting things to help people date. The important thing is, we want everyone to find love.”
As more people download the app in search of love, Divinity and Jose hope their story will inspire others.
“I have never felt so fulfilled in my life,” Divinity said.
“Sometimes it’s just about being loyal and taking risks,” Jose said.
While some may be skeptical that AI tools can help dating app users, Rizz is downloaded approximately 20,000 times a day and ranks among the top five dating apps in the U.S. app store. , has 1.5 million monthly active users. AI experts say only time will tell whether other apps will find ways to incorporate AI as well.
