Samsung Galaxy S24 FE
Even though the Galaxy Watch FE was only released in June, Samsung is already offering it for free to Galaxy S24 FE buyers.
This deal only applies to shoppers in the UK and the offer lasts until October 31st. Frustratingly, Samsung doesn’t automatically add the Galaxy Watch FE to the cart when going through the checkout process for the Galaxy S24 FE, instead requiring buyers to visit Samsung’s billing site.
To qualify, prospective Galaxy S24 FE buyers must submit a claim within 30 days of purchase and provide proof of purchase of the phone from a participating retailer, including most major UK stores. You will need to wait up to 30 minutes after submitting and handing over your device’s IMEI number. 5 days for approval. Samsung says if approved, the device will be shipped within 45 days.
It’s a long process with some bumps in the road, but it’s a good deal because in the end shoppers will get a Galaxy Watch FE worth £199 ($260.07) for free. This isn’t the first time Samsung has given away a free device with the purchase of a smartphone.
In April, the South Korean company bundled the (at the time) newly released Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with eligible Galaxy S24 purchases. To receive it, buyers had to go through a similar claims process.
Giving away a Watch (or tablet) for free probably reflects the lower position of the Galaxy Watch FE in the popularity charts compared to the Watch 7, Watch 6, or Watch Ultra. Samsung distributed the Galaxy Watch FE for free in some parts of Europe in June.
If you were planning on buying the Galaxy S24 FE, this is a great unexpected freebie. But I’m not entirely convinced whether it’s worth buying the device just for the free mid-range watch. Samsung has been slashing prices on almost all of its devices throughout the year, and these drops will likely get bigger and more frequent as the Galaxy S25 launch approaches.
Just a few days ago, Samsung was discounting the Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra by $200 and $300, respectively. Currently, the base Galaxy S24 has an enhanced trade-in value, and all three devices received deep discounts during Amazon’s Prime Day sale.
Samsung also runs promotions in months like September, August, and July, so there’s no need to feel pressured to choose this deal, as another deal will almost certainly be coming soon.
