CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police issued a warning after multiple armed robberies used dating apps to lure victims to secluded locations.
The most recent crime occurred on the South Side.

In each robbery, two to three male suspects messaged each victim through a dating app, arranged to meet at a specific address, and then robbed the victim.
In both robberies, the suspects had the victims meet at an abandoned building in the 800 block of East 90th Street in Burnside. In the first incident on September 15, the suspects used a knife and stole a handgun from the victim. In the second incident on September 24, the suspects used a handgun.

A similar robbery occurred last Thursday in the 8100 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Auburn Gresham, where the suspects also used a handgun, police said.
Since then, at least two more robberies have occurred in the 8100 block of South Marshfield Avenue on Monday at 11:45 p.m., and in the 1600 block of West 82nd Street just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the suspects demanded money from relatives through the Cash app and even stole the victim’s car.
Chicago police continue to investigate.
