Apple released the Apple Music app for Android smartphones and tablets a long time ago, but not the Apple TV+ app for those devices. Now, Apple is trying a new way to bring Apple TV+ content to Android smartphones and tablets. That’s through the Amazon Prime Video app.

Apple TV+ will be available as a Prime Video add-on in the US

In the US, Prime Video users can subscribe to the Apple TV+ add-on for $9.99 per month. This brings all Apple original TV shows and movies to the Prime Video app and makes them available to everyone, including those with Android smartphones and tablets. Apple TV+ content will be added to the Prime Video app later this month. So you can watch all the content on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet.

It is unclear whether all content will be available in original 4K Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos quality.

In the future, content will also be available to Prime Video users outside the United States. Hopefully, Apple will release a native Apple TV app for Android smartphones and tablets in the future so users don’t have to rely on a Prime Video subscription. Prime Video already has over 100 add-on channels.

Apple has already released native Apple TV apps for Android TV, macOS, PlayStation, Tizen, webOS, Windows, and Xbox. However, the app for Android smartphones and tablets has not yet been released, and the web version also needs improvement.

Apple TV+ competes with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, and other video streaming services. In the US, it typically costs $9.99 per month if you subscribe through Apple, but the price remains the same if you subscribe through the Prime Video app.
