Sarah Bond announced on social media that you can now play Xbox cloud games and that the Xbox Store is finally coming to Android this November.
In a post on Twitter & Threads, Meta’s equivalent of Twitter, Sarah Bond said:
“The court’s decision to open Google’s mobile store in the U.S. gives us more choice and flexibility. Our mission is to help more players play on more devices. That’s why we’re excited to share that starting in November, players will be able to play and purchase Xbox games directly from the Xbox app on Android.

Google recently lost a lawsuit and is the target of U.S. government surveillance of its sites over its mobile monopoly. Many will argue that it’s a duopoly with Apple, which has yet to lose in court on this issue. A federal judge orders Google to open its app store to competition. This latest move sees Xbox consolidate its current Android app footprint. Xbox Game Pass app functionality has been migrated to the base Xbox app. In a September blog post, they said:
The mobile Xbox app is the perfect hub to stay connected to your games and community right from your phone or tablet. Starting this week, we’re streamlining the mobile app experience by moving functionality from the separate Xbox Game Pass app into the Xbox app. These updates are available to Xbox Beta members on mobile and will be available to all users soon. As part of these changes, new downloads of the Xbox Game Pass app will no longer be supported starting in November.
Key features like exploring Game Pass and managing your membership will now be found in one place in the Xbox app on mobile. Browse the entire Game Pass catalog to find your favorite games, and stay up to date with alerts for new games coming to the service. If you’re a Game Pass Ultimate member, you can also view and claim benefits. Game Pass Ultimate members can also stream select games through Xbox Cloud Gaming on their iOS or Android device using any supported browser at xbox.com/play.
