Ticketmaster has announced that it will be the first ticketing company to take advantage of new features introduced to Apple Wallet in iOS 18. Ticketmaster tickets viewed in the Apple app will display enhanced information such as venue maps, parking, and more, according to the company’s blog post. Get directions, local weather, music recommendations from Apple Music, and more. Teams and event spaces can also add links to their own apps and websites that customers can access from their wallet tickets.
The company applied the new technology to two sporting events for the first time this year, and said it plans to roll out the feature to more events in 2025. While Ticketmaster is touting its role as the first adopter of the new wallet ticket experience, the new features aren’t just available to that company. Given that Ticketmaster was featured in PR images for the new feature, it seems likely that there was an agreement between the two companies on how to jointly promote the update.
Apple Wallet boasts several upgrades in its latest operating system release, including new features for faster money transfers. While there were some good things about last month’s initial iOS 18 rollout, Apple Intelligence’s big debut probably won’t happen until 2016.
