Apple is reportedly preparing an updated Magic Keyboard for new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models for release “early next year.” bloombergI’m Mark Garman.
Garman said the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air will include “some” of the new features that were present in the current Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, which debuted in May of this year.
This means the next iPad Air version of the accessory will feature a thinner, lighter design, an aluminum palm rest, a larger glass trackpad, and function keys with shortcuts to control features like speaker volume and screen brightness. Indicates that the column may be included.
Below is an excerpt from Garman’s report from earlier this month.
The new iPad Air models (codenamed J607 and J637) will focus on internal improvements. Apple is also preparing updated versions of its Magic Keyboard accessory, codenamed R307 and R308, for both the 11-inch and 13-inch versions of the new Air. These reduce the market price of some of the features of the iPad Pro keyboard.
Apple’s current M2-powered iPad Air also debuted in May.
