To get the most out of your Pixel Tablet, here are some essential accessories you can’t live without.
The Pixel Tablet may not be the newest product, but its sleek design and neat features make it a great addition to any smart home. As a versatile home screen, it can handle everything from controlling your smart devices to streaming your favorite shows, but it does even more.
We’ve tested many accessories for the Pixel Tablet, and here are some of our favorites.
EIP Magnetix keyboard case
iPad has many third-party accessories that combine a trackpad, keyboard, and case to recreate the laptop experience. For Pixel tablets, the closest accessory we’ve tested is the EIP magnetic keyboard case.
First and foremost, this is a protective cover for your Pixel tablet. It also has a built-in backlit keyboard so you can type and tap late into the night. It’s worth noting that the keyboard feels a bit cramped compared to traditional laptop keyboards, and the trackpad feels cheaper than I’m used to on laptops like the MacBook Pro. Still, overall everything works and is pretty much what Google wished they’d released in the first place.
The trackpad is a great addition that will be available in Android 15 QPR3 Beta 2 and will allow you to take advantage of the dedicated desktop mode offered in the next Pixel Feature Drop.
In terms of quality, the case itself feels great. The inner texture is made of vinyl rubber, and the outer fabric-like material covers the outer bifold. The kickstand itself has a good amount of resistance and is stable from 30 degrees to 125 degrees.
There’s also a cutout so you can connect it to the official Pixel tablet charging dock without removing the case. Finally, there’s also a stylus loop for storage, and overall it gives me the Chromebook-like mobile workspace I’ve wanted since day one with my Pixel tablet.
The entire package weighs less than 20 ounces, making it perfect if you want to do some “real” work with your Pixel tablet but don’t like carrying a separate keyboard and mouse. If Google continues to develop Desktop Mode, accessories like this could soon become a must-have for the Pixel Tablet.
Maxeye USI 2.0 Stylus
Google hasn’t released an “official” stylus accessory yet, but the Maxeye stylus works just fine with Pixel tablets, despite the fact that it was designed for Amazon Fire tablets.
This is a USI 2.0 stylus, so you get all the standard benefits like pressure sensitivity, palm rejection when using it, and low-latency connectivity. One of the biggest benefits of the Maxeye stylus is that it doesn’t need to be connected to your Pixel tablet via Bluetooth.
Apps like Infinite Painter have side buttons that enable additional features, and are useful little tools for signing documents and jotting notes. The build quality is impressive considering it’s made of plastic, and the matte finish gives it a premium feel.
One of the only complaints is that this stylus requires AAA batteries, which are more difficult to obtain than AAA or AA batteries. We recommend purchasing rechargeable AAA batteries as it will save you a lot of money in the long run.
Anker 5-in-1 USB-C adapter
Honestly, these accessories cost about 10 cents, so you can use just about any USB-C hub with your Pixel tablet. That being said, Anker makes some of the most reliable options in our tests.
Not all USB-C hubs are created equal, but having five ports to expand your storage or add peripherals is always a benefit. The Pixel Tablet doesn’t yet support HDMI output, but if Google chooses to enable output to an external screen, this 5-in-1 adapter will. You can also charge and connect it, so it’s always convenient.
Pixel Tablet Official Kickstand Case
Despite the premium price, the official Pixel Tablet case is a worthwhile investment for Pixel Tablet owners, especially if they don’t have an official speaker dock. Since it’s made for tablets, it fits like a glove and works well with the aforementioned charger dock.
The kickstand doubles as a handle, but the strength of the ring allows you to hang your tablet in a variety of places. For me, this is an outstanding accessory that enhances the tablet experience. If you’re a frequent traveler, a student, or just someone who values protection and style, the official Pixel Tablet case is sure to impress.
