Apple iPad Mini (6th generation)
Apple’s smallest tablet still leads the field.
The smallest model in the iPad line has new features under the hood for 2021, including support for Apple Pencil (2nd generation).
The 6th generation Apple iPad Mini is still my favorite Apple tablet, even though it was released in 2021. iPad Mini is more portable and easier to handle, making it easier to take on the go and easier to have at home. It also helps that, like all Apple products, it has a gorgeous aluminum design. It features an 8.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2,266 x 1,488 and a true DCI-P3 color gamut.
The iPad Mini is built to be a high-end tablet, where most small tablets fall short. It is equipped with Apple A15 Bionic chip and 4GB of RAM. Battery life is 9 hours when surfing the web. And if you want to get creative, it supports both the 2nd generation Apple Pencil and the USB-C Apple Pencil.

Google Pixel Tablet (without stand)
The portability of a tablet and the smartness of a Nest Hub.
The Pixel tablet is a 10.95-inch slate with Tensor G2-powered features that doubles as a Nest Hub smart display/speaker when placed in the charging speaker dock. Update 2024: Now available without stand.
If you’re into Android tablets, the Google Pixel Tablet offers a great balance of price and features. It’s larger, with a 10.95-inch screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600.
It’s meant to be a mid-end tablet, but with a Google Tensor G2 processor and 8GB of RAM, it’s still pretty capable. It has a large 7,020mAh battery that lasts over 10 hours on a single charge, which we found to be plenty. Even without the dock, it also comes with some pretty great speakers. By the way, this contract is for tablets only. Docking station not available.
