It’s been a few weeks since Apple’s iPhone 16 was released. As always, many Apple users are reporting issues with their new iPhones, mostly software-related. Still, even with iOS 18.0.1 now available, many iPhone 16 users continue to report issues with their devices. These are the biggest issues iPhone 16 owners are complaining about.
Camera control: Some users consider the camera controls to be an overly complex feature, while other iPhone 16 users are annoyed that the shortcut to open the camera requires two presses instead of one. Most people say that restarting your phone is enough. However, pressing the camera controls may also slow down the animation.
Camera issues: Many users say that when you open the iPhone 16’s camera, it appears black. This issue can be resolved by restarting your phone. Still, this problem seems to eventually reoccur.
Overheating problem: Apple had serious problems with its iPhone 15 Pro models due to overheating. With the iPhone 16, the company says it has improved the inside of the phone to make it cooler. However, many users still experience their iPhone 16 Pro Max overheating during simple tasks such as playing YouTube videos, texting, and using FaceTime. This could be related to the iPhone still indexing, but you may also notice that your iPhone gets too hot during simple tasks.
Apps that disappear: iPhone 16 users are complaining that some app logos have disappeared from the home screen. You can also open the app by tapping where it should be. But their icon keeps disappearing, seemingly for no reason.
Bluetooth issues: Some iPhone users have reported issues with Bluetooth connectivity. My iPhone 16 model isn’t connecting to my car’s Bluetooth or my AirPods keep disconnecting.
Slow refresh rate: Samsung leaker Ice Universe claims that the new iPhones don’t reach a 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, Apple locks most animations to 80Hz to save battery. It is unclear if this is related to iOS 18 or just a bug. However, the company can’t push for higher refresh rates if it locks users into slow animations.
summary
In addition to the above issues, iPhone 16 users previously experienced an issue with the touch screen not responding, which has been fixed in iOS 18.0.1. iOS 18.1 is scheduled to be released by Apple Intelligence later this month, and we expect this next software update to bring even more new features and improvements to iPhone software.
