In our OnePlus 12 review, we mentioned that the smartphone’s affordable price is one of the best things about it. Well, that’s even more exciting thanks to Amazon’s upcoming Prime Day sale. The price of a model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage drops to $650 with a 19 percent discount. This is a new all-time low (previously it has been as low as $700 several times). The 16GB/512GB model is also discounted by $150 to $750.
one plus
This is a new low price for an Android smartphone (which is already quite affordable).
$650 on Amazon
Not only does OnePlus offer great value as a flagship phone, but it also has a solid camera that takes crisp, crisp images. Note that the camera module is surprisingly bulky and will display a Hasselblad (the camera company that works with OnePlus) watermark unless you remove it.
Battery life is also a big advantage. A video rundown test measured a lifespan of over 26 hours. And after just 10 minutes of wall charging, the phone went from 10 percent to 55 percent. It charges up to 37% in the same amount of time when placed on the OnePlus Wireless Charger (available separately for $50).
The design is pleasantly “retro” (if you can apply that word to an aesthetic reminiscent of just five years ago), with rounded corners and tapered edges a la the Galaxy S10+. OnePlus 12 also takes lessons from the past when it comes to AI. That means it mostly skips hot new tech in favor of basic (but solid) smartphone functionality.
However, the screen and processor are completely modern, with a very bright and crisp 120Hz screen and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip that delivers smooth performance despite clocking a little lower in some benchmarks. I found out that it does.
Elsewhere, Amazon is also selling the OnePlus Open for $1,300. That’s a $400 discount on this phone, which we’ve dubbed the flagship foldable model to be a more affordable phone. This is the price that Open previously hit as recently as last month.
