Amazon Prime Day Tech Deals FAQ
What are the best tech brands on Amazon?
You can buy products from every major tech brand on Amazon. Amazon’s own brands typically see the biggest discounts—so look out for deals on eero, Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Ring products. You can also find the latest products from Apple, Dyson, Samsung, Beats, Bose, Sonos, Sony, Master & Dynamic, Lenovo, Google Nest, Meta, Fitbit, Therabody, and Microsoft, for starters.
However, Amazon does have a limited selection of most non-Apple laptops, so if you’re shopping for Windows laptops from brands like HP, Dell, Asus, and Acer, you’ll have better luck elsewhere.
Finally, before buying electronics on Amazon, check to see if the products are sold and shipped by Amazon itself, the brand, or an unknown third-party seller (tip: Search the product page for “ships by” and “sold by”). Whenever possible, avoid third-party sellers.
When does Prime Big Deal Days end?
Prime Big Deal Days 2024 takes place on Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9. As in year’s past, the sale will end at midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday.
Do I need a membership to shop Prime Day?
Yes, Amazon created Prime Day as an exclusive sale for Prime members; however, some discounts will be available to all shoppers. That being said, only Prime members will have access to exclusive deals, invite-only deals, and benefits like free shipping and returns (and Prime Video!). Amazon does offer a 30-day free trial and discounts for students, so new members can usually sign up at no cost before the sale begins to shop the best Prime Day deals this year.
Are other retailers having sales?
Usually, you can expect that there will be deals from competitors like Walmart, Target, and BestBuy during this July sale extravaganza—but often Amazon is still capturing some of the lowest prices that you’ll find before Black Friday.
